NSF/ASEE Engineering Deans Forum on Broadening Participation
ASEE Engineering Deans Diversity Initiative

The NSF/ASEE Engineering Deans Forum on Broadening Participation, hosted by the City College of New York Grove School of Engineering, serves as a national network for sharing and disseminating, convening, and building partnerships toward the training and preparation of a diverse engineering workforce. It employs a collective impact framework anchored by the NSF Engineering Advisory Committee Deans and supported by the ASEE Engineering Deans Council.

The goals of the Forum are to:

  1. Increase the percentage of underrepresented groups in engineering,
  2. Achieve diversity and inclusion in engineering research and education, and
  3. Provide an ongoing mechanism to achieve goals 1 and 2.

A convening of the Forum is scheduled to be held in Washington D.C., October 3. Expected outcomes include a blueprint for a structured and sustainable network to meet the goals of the Forum along with the framework for an alliance type proposal to be submitted to NSF.

The Forum meeting will be preceded by a meeting to discuss the ASEE Dean’s Diversity Initiative the afternoon of October 2.

Travel and lodging for participants will be covered by the NSF grant supporting the Forum. Registration is required (no registration fee).
